Thanks for the replies.
I like the idea of the thicker viscosity.
One of my conical end cones had a tiny little split which I have supeglued and will put a bike puncture repair patch on as well. Bob is still waiting for a new batch to arrive so make making do with what I already have.
This cold weather is a right pain, not worth the effort of freezing in the garage so just doing other bits like looking at the electrics and will have a go at making a mock up headlining this week.

I save all the end boots from the racks and have them in a box, like Dave said the older ones are better.
If you email me your address I will look one out and post it down to you. I have a few bits to look out for Dave anyway.

Re: Harry Hillman
Still waiting for a few bits to arrive so I can finish off the underside of the car.
In the meantime thought I would assemble the doors.
Are there any tips for getting the front quarter lights in? ...I just remember them being a pain to get out.
Needed to repair one of the door handle bars which had corroded through. Cut out and replaced rusted section. Didn't have any felt so used 2 layers of shrink wrap to avoid any rubbing.
(the black paint is just hamerite and was the easiest thing to just get a layer of protection on)

You will still be waiting on the boot from me as I have been looking for some bits for Dave at same time and would post all together.
The 1/4 lights require 1/2 opened (or there abouts) to rotate the pivot at the bottom sufficiently to be inline with the door aperture and it can then be lifted out.
Refitting you want a tight fit to seal against the door channel and you will find the rubber needs some massaging to fit well.
A few times I have bent the fragile frame a little at the corner which seems to have a big effect on the seal shape and how it snugs the inside corner at front
